Radzimir Dębski, known professionally as JIMEK, is a renowned Polish composer and conductor celebrated for blending classical music with contemporary and avantgarde genres. quote: “The goal is to invent new ones. If it has to be pop let’s not give people cancer”
Background:: A third-generation composer, he graduated with a master's degree in composition from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and further studied orchestration and film scoring at UCLA.
His breakthrough came in 2012 when he won Beyoncé’s “End of Time” remix competition, leading to his remix being featured on Beyoncé’s album 4: The Remix . In 2015, JIMEK gained international acclaim with his orchestral rendition of iconic hip-hop tracks, a project that resonated deeply within the hip-hop community and garnered millions of views online. He also recorded two albums with symphonic rap, the second commitioned by the olsest record label in the world, Deutsche Grammophon. In 2018 he received his first award - Polish Film Academy Award for Best Score.
Beyond his musical achievements, JIMEK has been involved in various philanthropic endeavors. He mentored the Ghetto Classics youth orchestra in Nairobi, Kenya, and conducted workshops with the National Forum of Music Orchestra in Poland.
In January 2025, JIMEK composed a new piece for the opening gala of Poland's presidency in the Council of the European Union. The composition, performed at the Teatr Wielki – Opera Narodowa in Warsaw, paid tribute to Poland's musical heritage, composers such as Szymanowski, Penderecki, Górecki, Kilar, and Bacewicz. These efforts will continue in Japan, October 2025
POLISH HIP HOP HISTORY
In June 2022 JIMEK orchestrated a tribute to Polish Hip Hop throughout the years featuring 30 guest rappers to a crowd of 27k at Warsaw Bemowo Airport.

In 2015 his symphonic orchestration “Hip Hop History” went viral earning him the appreciation of his rap heroes and fans worldwide.

BEYONCÉ
JIMEK’S career exploded in 2012 after winning Beyoncé’s ‘End of Time’ remix competition, beating over 3000 international contestants. His track was picked out by Beyoncé and a number of judges including; Giorgio Moroder, Isabella 'the Machine' Summers (Florence and the Machine), Afrojack and Diplo. The winning track was then released on Beyonce’s “4: The Remix”.

A composer with a racing license, JIMEK has been a global ambassador for Porsche for the last 8 years. He has composed and featured in many of their campaigns and also raced GT4.
BEST FILM SCORE
JIMEK scored his first film at age 15 and has since gone on to win numerous awards for composition in Film & Television including the Polish Film Academy Award for Best Score for ‘Art of Loving’. He was also Awarded the Komeda Grand Prix, Transatlantyk Best Young Composer Award and the Young Cinema Award for Best Score for the film ‘Panic Attack’. In 2025 currently nominated for his work on ‘Woman Of’ and ‘Night Silence’
GHETTO CLASSICS YOUTH ORCHESTRA NAIROBI
A most fulfilling opportunity took JIMEK to Nairobi, Kenya, to mentor the young musicians of Ghetto Classics—a youth orchestra based in the Korogocho slum. JIMEK’s collaboration with Ghetto Classics culminated in a memorable performance at the Safaricom International Jazz Festival, where he conducted 150 young musicians, marking a significant milestone in his career. Deeply moved by the experience, JIMEK returned to Poland, where he continued his support for the program. In 2018, he was honored to be named an ambassador for Ghetto Classics. His commitment to mentorship and cultural exchange led him back to Kenya for two consecutive years, further strengthening the bond between Polish and Kenyan youth through the universal language of music.
